UPDATE: A Pennsylvania man claimed to have shot and killed a Paterson teenager in the Poconos for an alleged $ 100 debt, authorities said after arresting him and an accused accomplice.

Tyrone Michael Parson, 19, of Stroudsburg lured Jaheem Keith Alston, also 19, into alleged drug trafficking before pulling out a gun and firing several shots at him on October 16, state police said from Pennsylvania.

Alston’s body was later found in a wooded area in Middle Smithfield Township, about 15 minutes west of the Delaware Water Gap, they said.

Parson reportedly told investigators that Alston – who graduated from Lodi High School last year – had failed to pay multiple times for marijuana and owed him around $ 100, according to court documents.

Parson had help ambushing Kellie Vanessa Nelson, 18, from East Stroudsburg, state police said.

Nelson apparently picked up Parson, then took him to find Alston, according to reports. She reportedly told the police that she was following the instructions and that she was not aware of the murder plot.

As Alston approached the vehicle, Parson started handing him pot with one hand, then pulled a pistol with his other hand from between the seats of the car and fired several times, the police said. authorities.

The couple then took off, they said.

State Police who responded to a report of gunfire eventually found Alston. A Monroe County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

State Police said they arrested Parson and Nelson without incident on Thursday. They remained in custody at the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Stroudsburg.

Parson is charged with homicide. Nelson, meanwhile, is charged with obstructing and tampering with evidence, among other charges.

The homicide came two nights after the body of the victim’s missing cousin, Kiariff Alston, 26, of Glen Rock, was found in waters off the Jersey coast.
